The best scenario I've seen for Cena is if it turned out he was th bad guy pulling the Authority's strings for a long time. It would explain why he always gets everything he wants no matter what.
The problem there though is that he's gotten to that huge character point where it would potentially be devastating to stop selling as much Cena merchandise and getting all the love from the kids and such. Same how Hogan was back in the early 90s. We haven't gotten to the point where nobody wants him to win, you know? Just those of us who've been watching for a long time. The younger ones all love him.
What they are doing now is actually a pretty good idea. The NXT show provides real wrestling fans with a show they want to see, and it's on the network which they need people to buy. The people who buy tickets and just go for the glamour and big time feel watch Raw and Smackdown, and so do the kids.
It really pretty much works out.
