(09-21-2014, 11:33 PM)Shane Anonistrator Said: Not too long ago I posted about how the RPing schedules were going to change. There have been some new developments.
Originally we were going to make it so you could only RP one time on the final day of the week, but we decided against that rule.
Here is what the NEW set of rules will be, starting with the new Madness card that will be booked later today.
There is still a default maximum of 2 roleplays in a single day, BUT...
We are adding a "max LEAD cap" which means you can no longer overwhelm an opponent with roleplays if they have not had a chance to respond with a single RP yet. This rule is somewhat experimental still, and may get tweaked as time goes by and we see what works best.
For now, here's how it will work. It's very simple. You will simply ask yourself "have I posted 2 roleplays in a row without hearing from my opponent?" and if the answer is yes, you wait until your opponent posts OR until 48 hours pass. If by some chance an extended period of time goes by and your opponent still doesn't post (currently 48 hours), THEN you can post another single RP while waiting for them to post. If another 48 hours goes by and they haven't posted, THEN you can post another single RP while you wait. This is somewhat similar to how our house shows work, where you have to wait for an opponent to reply before posting again, except with this rule you can do a second post before you have to wait.
Here are several examples of scenarios that may unfold...
Shane starts out his week on Monday by posting 2 roleplays. That's fine, but now he has to wait until his opponent, Madison, posts something before he can post again even if we cross over into the next day. So, let's say Madison doesn't post anything at all on Monday. Shane must NOT post anything on Tuesday until he sees Madison has posted. Let's say Madison finally makes a post on Wednesday morning. Now it all resets and Shane can post again UNTIL he has another 2 RP lead. So let's say Shane posts 2 RPs on Wednesday night. He has to wait again for a post from Madison before he posts more. IF by some chance a full 48 hours pass from the time of Shane's MOST RECENT roleplay and Madison has still not answered, Shane may post ONE more while he continues to wait. If another 48 hours pass from the time of that RP, Shane may post ONE more while he waits. This example goes a little longer than what a normal week would be but I think you get the point.
Example 2: Shane posts 1 roleplay Monday. Nothing happens on Tuesday. Shane posts another roleplay on Wednesday, bringing his lead over Madison to 2 in a row as we've explained. Shane now has to begin his 48 hour wait before he can post another roleplay, OR he can post again as soon as Madison posts.
Example 3: Shane posts 2 RPs on Monday. Madison posts 1 RP Monday afternoon. Since Shane already posted the daily max of 2, he has to wait until midnight board time BUT as soon as it's the next day he CAN post 2 more RPs since Madison already posted since Shane's first 2. Once Shane posts his 2 new RPs on Tuesday, he has to go back into the waiting stance for Madison to post or for 48 hours to pass.
Clarification on multi-person matches:
If you're in a 3way, 4way, etc... anything where everybody is against each other with no team mates, you only have to wait until ANY ONE of your opponents posts. You don't have to wait for them all.
Tag team and Trios, etc: You only have to wait until ONE of your opponents posts. You don't have to wait for both/all opponents to post. Each individual on the team can go for the 2 lead max. If Shane and Madison are teamed together, Shane can post 2 RPs and Madison can also post 2, but then they must both wait until SOMEBODY from the other team posts... or wait for the 48 hour rule to pass before they can each, as individuals, post 1 more.
If anything is unclear, please ask for clarification.
Again, it's this simple. Ask yourself "have I posted 2 roleplays in a row without hearing from my opponent?" and if the answer is yes, you wait until your opponent posts OR until 48 hours pass. It's called the anti-flooding rule.
In addition to this rule, anybody who has posted NOTHING all week can ONLY post 1 RP on the final day of deadline, even if their opponent posts 2 more on the final day.
PS: New deadline for each show is now midnight board time the DAY BEFORE the show. If you're on Monday Madness, your deadline is the end of day Sunday. If you're on Wednesday Warfare, your deadline is the end of day Tuesday. *beginning with the NEW cards, for example the Madness that gets booked later today and the Warfare that will get booked this Wednesday. The current week of Warfare that has already begun IS NOT yet under these rules.
