For those of you who follow wwe, Alberto Del Rio's release is kind of a shock. Former Money in the Bank winner, Royal Rumble winner, and wwe champion. You kind of had a feeling he was there to stay even if he wasn't really doing much recently.

Ricardo Rodriguez was released the other day, now ADR, and Rey Mysterio doesn't look to be a full time performer anymore. If my calculations are correct. this leave 3 Latin performers on the main roster.

Los Matadors and Sin Cara incarnate.

They said it was due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee.

So he got in a fight with someone with more power backstage I'm guessing.

So I got a 2 part question for you,
Who do you think ADR ticked off enough to get released?
and
This has to be the most shocking release since?

I think it was Randy Orton, because Orton tends to be the guy that causes problems with talent (Kennedy & Kofi)

and Daniel Bryan's release after the Nexus debut was pretty shocking, but wwe did the right thing and brought him back.

Perhaps McMahon, or one of the family. Only people I see having the power to have that done over an argument. As for the shock. Yeah, mostly because I have no idea who he is. The Latino wrestlers thing, though. I don't see that being an issue, I can't remember there being many in the business when I watched. Not really thinking race should be a factor here, unless it was an issue with her release.

I agree. I am also excited to see KENTA and Kevin Steen in NXT. It almost makes me want to renew my subscription to the wwe network...

But I will say
There is a reason that (despite very similar backgrounds before wwe and coming in at the same time) Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin aren't held in the same regard.

Nothing against Brock Lesnar (dudes a legit badass), but after taking his ball and going home after WM 20, a failed football career, a somewhat successful UFC career before his health problems, and now gets paid MILLIONS of dollars for a handful of appearance per year for wwe. He beat The Undertaker's streak and will probably win the wwe title at Summerslam. And this is the same guy who walked out on the company 10 years earlier.

Now look at Shelton Benjamin.

Wasn't as big (or as white) as Lesnar so they put him in a tag team with Charlie Haas. They made it work and got over. He stayed loyal to wwe, despite some terrible gimmicks along the way. Had excellent matches with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, etc. He worked his ass off, honed his craft, and became one of the best performers in the company. You think they would give this guy the same treatment as they gave Lesnar years earlier right?

Wrong. He was released in 2010 for no real reason whatsoever.

Not only does that say something about their racism, but also the lack of loyalty wwe has to the people who stick by them.

I wholeheartedly believe that if Shelton Benjamin was white he would be in the main event scene along with John Cena, Randy Orton, and Daniel Bryan.

See WWE wants to pretend racism doesn't exist in the company, the problem with that is history isn't exactly on their side.

That ended up being longer than I thought it would be, I'm sorry.

I seriously wonder if someone in WWE for some odd reason is trying to deliberately sabotage WWE. I mean there are all these rumors and stories of Sheamus fighting backstage and yet he still works for WWE. I hate it for ADR and his family but maybe now he can go somewhere else that will appreciate his true talent.

And Hunter, I do not believe racism is not existent in the business. I just don't believe we need to paint every issue involving a non-white with racism. Doing so just creates unneeded tension. Maybe Brett was let go because he was causing issues, or something. I dunno. I don't follow wrestling, I just feel the world is hateful enough. No need to admit more.

DD, he wasn't accused of fighting, it was for sending unsolicited nude pictures of himself to road agents

WWE also fired the guy who has been their time keeper for 30 years. They are in massive amounts of trouble and don't want to admit it since they will lose tons of stock. A lot of their high dollar investors are either pulling the plug on them or getting ready to and they are doing all they can to hang on to the ones who don't know a lot about stock trading and just own small amounts for the purpose of owning a share in the company.

I agree but this time they might have dug themselves too deep into a hole they cant get out of. They spent too much money trying to turn a wrestling show into a soap opera that mainly caters to children and completely forgot about us old fucks who put the money in their pockets when we were younger. I am thinking all of these cutbacks and firings are pure desperation and they are turning out bad because WWE has never faced this kind of problem before and have no idea how to fix it.

I LOVE Shelton Benjamin and have been rooting for him in NJPW's G1 Climax that has been going on the last couple weeks. With that said:

He was never going to be the draw that Brock Lesnar is/was. Lesnar is a legit shoot fighting badass that walked into UFC with little MMA experience and took out the Heavyweight Division in an instant. He's not an all time great in MMA but the fact that he could win the UFC Heavyweight Title just goes to show that he's a bad ass. He looks like a vanilla gorilla and is a freakish athlete. Shelton is also a freakish athlete but not in the way that someone looks at him and goes "WOW THAT GUY IS ONE OF THE TOUGHEST IN THE WORLD".

Shelton is also held back by his lack of promo ability. Brock is better than him there and that's saying a lot because Brock is below average at best.

Shelton could have been handled better but he definitely had his limitations. They tried to give Bobby Lashley the same push that they gave Brock, he just didn't put asses in the seats like Brock did. In fact, WWE would love a top black guy, I just can't think of any in the industry that make sense as a headliner. Mark Henry is broken down and he's still pushed like a headliner. Maybe Big E can get there but he's still pretty green.

Roman Reigns is Samoan and is getting the biggest push in the company. They used Eddie and Guerrero to bring in the latino demographic for years. They're both talented but being Mexican probably helped them just like it helped Del Rio at first. Del Rio, like Shelton, was limited by his ability to speak on the mic.

Apparently there have been rumours that Del Rio has wanted to go back to Mexico but this is still ridiculous. ADR was great and when he was champion they just made him look like an asshole with nowhere for his gimmick to go. As for the firing I call bullshit because he slapped someone when Sheamus seems to get into a fight every few weeks and gets his ass kicked backstaged and yet nothing happens to him. The night when Batista left Evolution he beat up Bo Dallas backstage and Bray Wyatt went all to hell on twitter and said " he clearly doesn't know what family he is fucking with" and yet no one cares. WWE are pieces of shit.

"WWE noted that Del Rio was abruptly let go "due to unprofessional conduct and an altercation with an employee." Shortly afterwards, reports came out that Del Rio slapped a member of WWE's social media team.

According to f4wonline.com, the story going around this morning is that the whole thing started when somebody in catering (a staff member) asked WWE's Social Media Manager to clean off his plate. The social media manager allegedly responded, "That's Del Rio's job."

Word got back to Del Rio, who confronted the WWE employee. The Social Media Manager refused to apologize and smirked at Del Rio, which led to him getting slapped across the face.

It's believed that Del Rio has a 90-day no-compete clause that would prevent him from working for TNA or Mexico's AAA promotion.

Dave Meltzer noted that TNA is already trying to get in touch with Del Rio, asking around for his phone number.

Apparently, TNA already wants to make Del Rio the next TNA World Champion. "Next TNA champion is not a joke," Meltzer said. "Dead serious."'

Now I think Del Rio was pretty justified in slapping that guy in the face. As unprofessional as it was. You know what else is unprofessional? Telling someone that one of your Mexican employees should be cleaning off your plate (dishwasher is a stereotypical Mexican job). Then this social media guy has the balls to not only NOT apologize but to smirk about what he said. I would've done more then just slap this asshole if I were Del Rio.

And TNA is interested, which is cool, but I think making World Champion right away would be a huge mistake, you gotta build him up to that.
