Alexandra looked at David slightly confused before kneeling down, holding onto Thomas and looking at her daughter.

"Mommy was being shown the light. David here, sacrificed himself and held my hand. But we are okay. If anything it brought David and I closer together. I'm glad you all liked his gifts. Why don't you go unpack your suitcases?"

They nodded and ran for the door before Ashlynn stopped bowing politely.

"It was so nice to meet you sir. I am glad my mommy has someone like you in her life."

She disappeared without another word. Alexandra stood blushing, looking up at David. She stood directly in front of him, slipping her scarred hand into his scarred one.

"I'm sorry. Ashlynn is very direct. But I can tell, she likes you. Thomas does too."

Alexandra's gaze caught his and she fell silent.
