So, one thing I've always been proud of with the XWF is the quality of our results. We tend to do full match write-ups, all the way from the opening bell to the final pinfall, with all the twists and turns, momentum shifts and false finishes of watching wrestling live.

It's the most work, but it makes me the most proud of our final product.

...That being said, haha...

In order to maintain this level of quality in our results, given our dearth in match writers, I've occasionally had to write anywhere between three to five matches a show. Given how much research and time I put into trying to use y'all's RPs to inform the characters and their actions and strategies in the ring, just one match is already a time-consuming affair... any more than two, and we're talking about a full day of work. On the most recent Warfare, I ended up writing five matches, and was essentially writing on-and-off all-Sunday-and-Monday to get results out on time.

So! We're already experimenting a little bit with Anarchy, to try and make the workload more manageable, because we've *always* had less Anarchy match writers than Warfare match writers. In that spirit, we're switching to a Highlight Reel match format, which will include the coolest spot ideas, then straight on to the finish, with all the last second reversals and exciting conclusion.

I've fought against this proposal of, in any way, cutting down our results for a while... but, at this point, I can't maintain my current match writing workload.

How does this make you feel? Do you feel strongly about the experience of a full match write-up or do you just skip mostly to the end of a match? Would you find highlight reel style matches acceptable?

Thanks y'all!

I think since Anarchy falls under the umbrella of "micro" then the match writing should reflect that. Shorter, highlight, hot reels, cool spots, finish. Most feds already do the "summary" style for their micro-branded shows, so people are used to it and don't really complain much about it. Although I will say, I love the way y'all write matches here, so I'll miss the depth in some of it.

As a sidenote, I personally don't think there is anything wrong with a fedhead and/or admins using A.I. to write the matches for them. Feds are starting to do this for their match writing aspects because it's hard to find help with match writing from their fed members.

I despise writing matches, which is ironic because I spent the first 5 years of my efedding journey in competitive match writing feds, lol. Yes, everyone, I'm that old. Match writing feds were the rage before promo based fedding came along. By the end of it, I was burnt out and have never recovered.
