UPDATED FOR JULY 2025*
*Note: The Warfare results that just dropped are NOT included, as those are for August.
Preamble: For a month with only two cards, there is an odd amount of movement in this week's rankings! Part of it can be due to the changes to Mr. Oz's details, as discussed in June, which has had a bigger impact than in any other similar cases previously. But that doesn't account for all of it! And with a couple of names due to drop off the rankings at the end of August, then there's likely to be some more shake ups happening, especially in the top 10!
On to the spotlight, starting with...
AAAAND NNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
It did not take long for Sebastian Everett-Bryce to once again sit atop these rankings! But when he and Supposedly Micheal Graves have been so close for so long, a massive showing like SEB had at Leap of Faith is sure to do enough to put him ahead! Congratulations, and welcome back to the top!
Biggest ranking rise:
- Mr. Oz - A rise of 15 places is enormous. Oddly, that doesn't even come close to the biggest rises we've seen when there were 60-something names on the roster. But in this size roster? It's huge. Now, there's a bit of an asterisk here because it is due to merging previous data with his current data, as discussed last month. So in likelihood, Oz's rating right now is probably higher than it should be. But that means his previous ratings were probably lower as well. In a few months I expect Oz to drift a fair bit, but of note, he also gained a ton of ratings points this month too (50+ points - unclear what change that would translate to in rankings) so it's not like he wouldn't have been rising anyway!
- Solomon Kline - Because of the unique situation with Oz, I wanted to spotlight the next biggest increase as well. With two X-Treme Title defences, including one on PPV, Solomon Kline climbed 5 places this month and has fully cemented himself as one to watch going forward, regardless of what happens on Warfare.
Highest debut/return- Nobody new got added to the rankings this month, and I'm not sure that has ever happened before? Maybe in the historical records, but certainly not since monthly updates were provided. There are a few names not far away from breaking into the list though, so expect at least one person to be spotlighted here next month.
Eyes on:- Dolly Waters - How could the new Universal Champion not get a mention? Dolly has been a stalwart of the XWF for so long, to see her finally get her flowers is a feel-good moment for everyone. There are some big points out in front of her, but if she can keep this going, she'll be chasing down the higher ranked names in no time.
- King Kieran - This is written after Warfare, and knowing how Kieran's match went there, and that he and Dolly will be tangling up come Relentless, statistically speaking there are some big opportunities for points coming The King's way in future months.
- Sarah Wolf - I've been saying to keep an eye on Lucy Wyle all year. Even without the TV Title, I'd still recommend people keep an eye on her. But, if I've been that big on Lucy, how can I not draw attention to the woman who dethroned her? It's official: Sarah Wolf has clicked into high gear people. That spells danger for everyone. Now, the challenge here is the same one Lucy had - that TV title is defended more frequently than any other title. Can Sarah keep it up? I'm excited to find out!
- Them No Good Bastards - Usually I try to keep this list to just 3, but I felt the need to explain the significant drops for the Anarchy Tag Team Champions. They've lost a couple of title defences by DQ recently. They've kept the titles, but version 1.1 of ELO doesn't account for DQ or countout. A loss is a loss. That means though, that both Bobby Bourbon and Thunder Knuckles are probably undervalued by the data here. Expect that to correct course in no time.
