” And how did that go?”

We open our scene in the now-familiar psychologist office of the Doctor of one Chris Page. We see Chris nervously sitting on the brown leather sofa as he looks off-camera towards his shrink.

” What?”

” When I asked you to speak to Robert, did you?”

” Once again back to Robert…”

Chris, disgruntled and disheveled as his Doctor responds.

” Why does it anger you so much for me to mention Robert’s name? At the end of our last session, we agreed that you would at least ask him why he didn’t aid you at Relentless Night Three?”

” He got me to admit that I underestimated Thunder Knuckles, and I did.”

[i[Chris takes a deep breath as he leans back on the couch before rubbing his hands over his face.[/i]

” I made the biggest rookie mistake one can make by overlooking an opponent.”

” And you believe that?”

” Why wouldn’t I? I mean regardless if Rob had interjected himself what good would it have done in the grand scheme when I wasn’t on top of my game? Reality is a bitch and when you’re pushing fifty years old and have back to back to back high profile matches spanning forty-eight hours takes a bigger toll on me than I thought.”

” So you’re okay with the response? You technically haven’t given me an answer.”

” Yes, Doc.”

” And how did you perform after you had this conversation? If you remember based on our last conversation it was my initial diagnosis that for you to move forward you have to eliminate your doubts.”

” I did well; picked up a big win over Donovan Blackwater.”

” And what about that Tag Match?”

” What about it?”

Chris now appears to be confused by the question from his shrink.

” I wasn’t in a tag match… “

Chris casually states.

” I buried Thad’s old man and got into a scuffle with him but that was it.”

” Are you sure about that?”

” I mean I think I’d know, right?”

” So you don’t remember returning as “The Beast”?”

” Come on Doc, check your notes because I could have sworn that we’ve covered this. I do not have control when “they” take over.”

” They? Who else are you referring to?”

Chris takes another deep breath as he then states.

” The Beast or The Monster.”

” And do you think it would be possible for me to speak with either of them?”

” Oh I don’t think you’d like that; I’m told neither is very big on words.”

There’s a brief pause from Chris before he continues.

” I don’t ever even recall having split personalities before. It’s all new to me and something I struggle with coming to terms with controlling daily.”

” It’s not uncommon for some sort of tragedy or deep-rooted psychological break forces another version of you to take over your body. It’s also common not to remember what happened while The Beast or The Monster assumes control of your personality because Chris Page isn’t involved in whatever proceedings are taking place.”

Chris intently listens to his Doctor.

” To try and control your personalities we’re going to have to find out what triggers them to emerge from the depths of your mind; what triggers them? Something in your mind breaks and allows them to come forward and overpower you. Do me a favor and think back to Saturday Night since that was the last time The Beast showed himself; close your eyes and think about what transpired before you lost time.”

Chris closes his eyes and starts to think back to Savage Saturday Night.

” You remember your match against Donovan Blackwater, yes?”

” Yes.”

” You remember burying Sebastian Duke alive, yes?”

” Yes.”

There’s a brief pause from Chris before he states.

” Robert and I both played our part.”

” And then what happened?”

” Thaddeus showed and we got into per usual.”

” And then?”

” And then things went dark.”

” When things went dark that’s when The Beast showed up. Do you know why we are recalling these events? Because somewhere there’s a trigger that allows The Beast to take over if we can identify the triggers we can collectively work towards controlling your personalities.”

” You’re saying Thad is a trigger?”[/b]

” Can I rule out he doesn’t play a role; no, but I am positive that he isn’t a deterring factor. Emotions are what drive The Beast and The Monster. I believe that if you get so angry or frustrated that it can play a role. When you saw Thaddeus, how did it make you feel?”

[green]” Dude I despise the ground the walks on after the stunt he pulled at Night One of Relentless. I wouldn’t piss on his gums if his teeth were on fire. That little arrogant prick can take a long walk off a short pier.”

The Doc interjects.

” When say what he pulled at Relentless you’re talking about this kiss, correct?”

Chris leans back into the brown leather couch as he lets out a sigh.

” Of course that’s what I’m talking about. Who in their right mind pushes their sexual agendas on others like that, and people think it’s okay? If he wants to pack fudge on the Hershey highway that’s his business and he’s entitled to do so… but what he did to me was nothing more than a slap to my face.

” Perhaps I’m wrong.”

” Wrong? Wrong about what?”

” Observing you as you talk about what happened the sense of anger within the tone of your voice and your mannerism suggest that maybe he plays a bigger part in triggering The Beast than I originally thought.”

” There’s a pause from the Doc before we hear him say.

” I’d like to talk to The Beast if I may.”

Chris leans forward resting his elbows on his knees as he shakes his head from right to left-back and forth as he states.

” You don’t want to do that.”

Chris stops shaking his head as he looks over at the Doctor, who has still yet to be seen on camera.

” I can’t guarantee that he will be civil.”

” This doesn’t have to happen today but eventually, I’m going to have to speak to him if I’m going to help you. We are making some serious headway here and I know that I can help you if you allow me to. What I’d like for you to do this week before our next session takes some time for yourself and reflect on when you first started to blackout and the Beast started to take over. Come up with a list of events that led to it and maybe we can get one step closer to what triggers the shift in personalities. I want you to know that you’re doing a great job thus far and you’re starting to open up. Don’t let anything stop your progress.”

” Thanks, I guess.”

… to be continued.

WORDS FROM THE STONED ONE:

” The road to High Stakes is in full effect coming off the heels of Savage Saturday night.”

Chris Page is shown sitting in the corner of a room, isolated from the world around him. In front of him on a small table is a silver tin, a glass ashtray, a bottle of Jack Honey, and a shot glass.

” I came, I saw and I conquered, or should I say “we”? Not that it matters in the long run because I left Savage with the two victories I was looking for…. But I also saw the return of Thaddeus Duke; too bad you weren’t a little earlier and you could have saved your pops from being buried alive; you’re welcome.”

There’s a slight chuckle under the breath of CCP before he continues.

” Alas we’re not here to talk about Savage, are we? It’s in the past, the rearview as now we look forward to Warfare in just a little over a week where I have been booked to step in the ring with one of my fellow High Stakes Battle Royale compadres in Barney Green.”

Chris leans forward to grab the bottle of whiskey before stopping and leaning back up as he states.

” Dude what the fuck took over your body and made you walk to the ring and interrupt me on the last Warfare? More importantly why the fuck would you think that it was every Okay to strike me? Barney, dude I liked you man. I respected the lengths you’ve had to go to to see your name on a marquee. The blood you’ve been forced to shed all over the world from Death Matches and every crazy fucking affair one might be able to dream up; you’ve done it.”

Chris leans forward reaching out for his silver tin but before he grabs it he pulls back once more as if showing some sort of restraint as he leans back against his chair.

” Do you know why you’ve had to resort to the blood and guts or all the gimmicks imaginable to find some sliver of success? Because you fucking suck homie! You’ve developed a cult-like following by a fan base that PAYS to see you get your ass handed to you, and yet you’re foolish enough to think they’re cheering you because they like you… the truth hurts.”

There’s a slight pause from Chris before he states.

” The truth is there’s a reason why guys like you have to work a more garbage wrestling style; because when it comes to actual wrestling you don’t the first fucking clue! Now on the last edition of Warfare, you shot your shot and put me on my ass, as cheap as that shot was you still landed it and for that have leveled some embarrassment on my name. Actions like that will not go unpunished, and while you elected to jerk Diamond off to get a match with me I was the man responsible for naming the stipulation.. that’s right Barney, blood and guts aren’t in the equation as I force you to do what I already know you can’t… fucking wrestle.”

Chris leans forward as he speaks directly towards the camera in a very soft and methodical tone.

” In this business, there’s a guy like me who can get into any wrestling ring under any companies umbrella and put on a clinic with a fucking broomstick… and then there are guys like you Barney, guys that have to have the gimmicks because you can’t get over on your merit. You garner sympathy for being too stupid to quit when you should have retired a long, long time ago. I’m not coming to Warfare to play a game with you Barney, I’m coming to serve you the same levels of embarrassment that you served me and in the process crush whatever momentum you’re trying to build for the High Stakes Battle Royale in the process.”

A slick smirk graces the face of Chris as he continues.

” Defeating you here and now isn’t going to satisfy my hunger when it comes to you Barney; eliminating you and your chances of tainting what’s left of the legacy of the Universal Championship will. Face it, Barney, you’ve taken years off of your life appeasing the masses of a fucking handful while leaving zero legacies behind. If you disappeared tomorrow the wrestling world wouldn’t mourn your loss… it wouldn’t even acknowledge it!”

The sheer tone alone coming from Chris is enough to give you goosebumps as this has surpassed any game in the eyes of Page.

” I was going to pour myself a shot earlier… then I was going to light a joint…. Do you know why I didn’t, Barney? Because as I was reaching for the bottle, as I was reaching for my tin I realized that you’re not worth my alcohol or my fucking weed; so what does that say about you in my eyes? You made a HUGE mistake when you stepped to me on Warfare, I’m in an extremely foul fucking mood and you’ve only made it worse for yourself. I hope you’re ready for the taste of defeat homie because that’s all that’s on the menu for you come to Warfare.”

Chris leans back in his chair at his table as he shifts gears.

[green]” Oh Thaddeus…”

A cocky smirk graces his face upon finishing Thaddeus name.

” The prodigal son has returned with vengeance, and all I can say is… It’s about time. We can cut the antics and all the bullshit between you and me and state the facts. Fact, you’ve NEVER pinned me or made me submit. Fact, I’ve never pinned you or made you submit yet we’re at this end pass with these victories we share over each other; and since I buried your old man on Savage I can’t think of a better way to reunite the family than by burying you too! I’m coming over to Warfare next Wednesday Night, YOUR stomping grounds, and not only am I coming to slit the throat of Barney Green I’m coming for a proposition for you, sir. Let’s up the ante and take this to the next level because when I see you on Warfare I’ll be bringing a contract for you and a partner of your choice to tangle with CATACLYSM at High Stakes.”

Chris laughs under his breath for several seconds before he composes himself to state.

” If you can find a person that’s willing to stand by your side and take the ass-whipping you’re GOING to take you can have a shot at taking away the only thing that makes me relevant; that is if you got the fucking guts; if they weren’t beat out since you’ve been behind bars.”

Chris gazes intently into the handheld camera, his eyes fixated as he seems to fall into a trance-like state before popping out of it at a moment’s notice.

” So in closing, I’m going to leave you all with this last nugget of knowledge I’ll bestow upon the masses. Warfare is my last stop before I start one hundred percent gearing up for High Stakes in Tombstone. I’ve already been in more action than any of your “darlings” your lips are on the tip of the cocks of and I’ve already been more interesting and entertaining than any “death” spot drawn out from an opportunist that can give two shits about anyone else other than his self.! I’ve never said I was the best of the best but I’ll tell you this when you light the fire under my ass it’s pretty fucking hard to extinguish! “
