The sound of drums, footsteps of a thousand warriors marching across a torn, barren wasteland. Men who had once bore pale flesh, and whose hair glistened like that of gold in the Sun, now stained in crimson. Their leather, scarred and charred, paraded like badges of honor while the wounded laugh and jest about their injuries.
These ravenous beasts of men stride on through the fields, Lead by a cunning, yet mighty chieftain. The mind of a wolf, strength of a bear, and a heart of a lion, all traits of an unwavering combatant. A man whose eyes so no fear of what waits in the fog, whose blood burns hotter than the fires of the netherrealm. And despite his lust for battle, his soul is gentle and benign.his words could quell a raging maelstrom, and bed the sultriest or maiden.
And what do the God's call such a creature, what name could you bestow such a complete specimen of a man? One can only stop to ponder the process they must have gone through when they reached their decision. What joy must've been had, oh what praise and celebration must have taken place when Odin carved the Protaph upon the cradle, and proclaim in his greatest, booming voice:
