Meeting Jefferson Davis: RP 1 - Wyatt Reynolds - 01-15-2014 When y'all last saw a Wyatt Reynolds promo, y'all learned that the relationship between my wife, Willow, and I has become quite strained. I'm a habitual adulterer and I've never denied that fact. She has begun to do the same thing. Part of me is surprised by that revelation, but at the same time I do not really care what that woman does. We could stay married, her do her thing, me do my thing and live a somewhat happy life together. However, problems arise when you try to use my sons against me. When you state to your husband that you wish to divorce, you don't use that husbands children against him. Especially if that husband is Wyatt Reynolds. What's more, you don't threaten to become evidence that could put him away in a prison for a long time. No, see, that's where Willow went wrong. I've never raised a hand to that woman in all our years together, but if she continues to use these threats against me, her and I – mostly her, are going to have some real big problems. What she has managed to do is ignite a fire deep within me that can not be put out until this pendin' divorce is final, and this potential trial is over. While I tend to by business with the Xtreme Wrestlin' Federation, and I am unable to follow Willow's every move, I've had my friend, Mason Charles, followin' her wherever she goes. Whatever she does, wherever she goes, whomever she sees. I want to know about it. I'm a busy man these days. I can not be here and there at the same time. I need to know what she plans to do before she does it. In this world and in this life you must be one step ahead of the competition at all times. My life my play out in front of television cameras for the world to see, but that changes nothin'. If you want to back Wyatt Reynolds into a corner, you better believe he'll get out of it. You just might not like how. Right now, I'm waitin' outside the office of my divorce attorney, Jefferson Davis. He's a man I've known for a long time. He and I went through law school together. Practicin' law wasn't my scene. Just as the wrestlin' business isn't his. As I wait, my phone begins to buzz in my pocket. When I pull it out, I can not help but smile just a little. It's my southern belle, Charlotte Dyson. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Hey darlin'. +++++Charlotte Dyson+++++ Hey! I happen to look over at Jefferson's receptionist who is now wavin' me in. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Darlin', I'm sorry. I have to go meet with my attorney. Can I call you later? +++++Charlotte Dyson+++++ Hell, I'll be waitin'. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Alright. I'll talk to you soon. After I hang up the phone, I head into Jefferson's office. He greets me with a handshake and a smile. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Wyatt god damned Reynolds! How you doin' old friend? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Considerin' I'm meetin' you here and not somewhere out there, I'd think not too well. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Good point. Come on in here, Wyatt. Sit down. I take a seat in a comfortable lookin' chair. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Scotch? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ It'll take the edge of a little. Scotch and water. Hold the water. After pourin' us drinks, he hands me a tumbler and takes a seat across from me. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ When I saw your name, I just couldn't believe it. The last time I saw you, you and Willow seemed quite happy. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Well, you know me and my tendencies, Jefferson. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ You always did have a way with the ladies, Wyatt. At Bama, it was a different girl every night if my memory serves me right. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Yeah well, not everythin' has changed. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ What did change? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ My profession. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ I did hear about that. I haven't caught it on TV yet, I'll get to it though. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ We have cameras followin' our every move, Jeff. Everythin' I do is there for the world to see. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ And Willow, I take it. I don't answer. Instead, I nod and take a big swallow from my glass. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Your new job throws bein' discreet out the window. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I've fallen for another woman, Jeff. She's in my business. I never stop thinkin' about her. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ And in a month? Two months? Six? When you get bored with this new woman, then what? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ It's already been a few months, Jeff. If I was goin' to get bored, I already would have. You know me, Jeff. If somethin' keeps my interest this long, I can go all the way. See it through. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ You went through law school with me, Wyatt. You know exactly what I'll advise you. You know exactly what you stand to lose by filin' for divorce. Your acts of indiscretion are now open to the world. There isn't a judge in this state that would side with you. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ She's had her own acts of indiscretion. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Can you prove it? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I'm workin' on it. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ You better work fast. A lawyer friend of mine tells me she's seen him. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ The house, the car, the money. I don't care about that. She can have whatever she wants. Except my boys. My question to you, is what are my chances of winnin' custody of my children? +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Between slim and none. I quickly down the rest of the Scotch. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Look, Wyatt. I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but I'm not here to tell you what you want to hear. I'm here to tell you the truth. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I know it. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Your only chance of winnin' custody of your children is to prove that she's an unfit mother. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ She's a good mother, Jefferson. Her and I have our problems, but I could never take that away from her. She's been a good wife and a good mother. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Then you stand no chance. My advice to you, would be to hire a private investigator. Wyatt, strained marriages can cause people to act quite strange. Act is if they're completely different people. You understand? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I got that covered, Jeff. File the appropriate paperwork. I want this union dissolved. You let me handle Willow my own way. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ I'll get started on it right away. I'll give you a call in a few days, Wyatt. The documents should be ready to sign by then. I head for the door when Jefferson stops me. +++++Jefferson Davis – Divorce Attorney+++++ Just don't anythin' stupid, now. I know your ways. Stupidity will bite you in the ass. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ You just do what I'm payin' you to do, Jefferson. Ain't no one takin' my boys, you understand that? Not her. Not anybody. Without another word, I head out of his office and out of the building. Once I'm on the street, it's time to give Mason a call. Just as I step inside the Mercedes SUV, he answers. +++++Mason Charles+++++ Wyatt Anderson Reynolds. Why are you calling me at this late hour? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ What the hell are you talkin' about, man? It's after one in the afternoon. +++++Mason Charles+++++ So it is. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Meet me at the park in a half hour. We have got to talk, Mason. +++++Mason Charles+++++ Half hour? That's askin' a lot. How bout an hour? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Thirty minutes! Without waitin' for another word, I hang up the phone and begin to navigate through the streets of Birmin'ham toward the city park. Once I reach the park, I'm satisfied as I see Mason Charles already waitin' for me. I quickly exit the car and take a seat on the bench next to him. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I thought a half hour was too soon. +++++Mason Charles+++++ I'm stayin' at the hotel across the street. I was just bustin' your balls man. So, what's up? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I was just in a meetin' with an old friend of ours. You remember Jefferson Davis? +++++Mason Charles+++++ Hell yeah, I remember him. What's he up to these days? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ He's a divorce attorney. Anyhow, he doesn't think I can win custody of my boys when it goes to court. +++++Mason Charles+++++ That sucks man. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ It's not goin' to make it to court. +++++Mason Charles+++++ Whoa! Wait a minute now! You're not thinkin' about... +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ No, not that. That'd be too suspicious. +++++Mason Charles+++++ So you've that about it. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Hell yes I thought about it. We've got to do somethin' though. +++++Mason Charles+++++ What if I fucked her? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ You like borin'? By all means go for it. +++++Mason Charles+++++ Listen, I'm sure ole Jeff Davis told you that you couldn't win because your affairs are broadcast to the public. What if hers was? +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ I don't know that it'll make a difference, Mason. +++++Mason Charles+++++ I think I know what to do. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ What's that? +++++Mason Charles+++++ You just leave that up to ole Mason! Plausible deny-ability, my friend. The less you know, the better! Mason begins to leave. As he walks across the grass, I yell out to him. +++++Wyatt Anderson Reynolds+++++ Where the hell you goin'? +++++Mason Charles+++++ I'll call you! I don't really like surprises. God only knows what Mason Charles is up to. Maybe it's better this way. Knowing Mason the way I do, that's probably true. |
