Writers Block! - Jenna Silver - 12-04-2013 I absolutely can not think of what to write. If I could get some assistance with Jenna that would be wonderful. That's partially the reason why my newest RP wasn't that great. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Writers Block! - Jessie-ica Diaz - 12-04-2013 I get this a lot. I'll sit, staring at a blank draft, then a crazy ass idea will just come, and I'll find a way to make it work, which is also why Jessie and Luca's stories can seem hard to follow at points, as they're all over the fucking place. Just, don't be afraid to expand. You never know what'll work until you try to throw GTA V into an RP arc, and then having it work like a fucking charm, yo. Lol. Writers Block! - John Raide - 12-04-2013 I used to have a professor say that the reason you're "blocked" is that you're afraid to write what you want to say. Not afraid in the 'I'm going to die' sense, but more that what you want to confess to as he put it may shock or disturb people or move them in some way. Sort of a "What will people think if they read this?" moment. I'm not doing his words justice, but when I'm blocked I'll just pause what I'm doing and think on the singular emotion that I want to express. My best advice -- write one good scene. It doesn't matter if you keep it or not. Write one scene where your character talks to -- I don't know -- we'll use Jessie here as an example. What's that conversation look like? What are they talking about? You may find that ideas stem from that. Now get writing! ![]() Writers Block! - Peter Fn Gilmour - 12-04-2013 i hear ya jenna im having probs thinking of what to do next with gilmour.. anyone have any GOOD ideas? Writers Block! - Minxs - 12-04-2013 One thing that helps me when I start getting writers block is that I free write. Just take a piece of paper and start writing random words. Doesn't have to make sense but...with some luck, one word will come across and start a whole rp. There is a trick that I have where I write the first paragraph and/or the last paragraph, that way I have a start and an end point. I have to figure out how to connect the two paragraphs according to the character or characters involved. It gives me something to do while daydreaming/bored as shit in lecture. It doesn't have to make any sort of sense just some sort of Controlled Chaos that seems like fun. Writers Block! - Tri Bute - 12-04-2013 My solution to writer's block is to stop writing the scene and start a new one with "GET DOWN!" and some kind of vague bad thing gets introduced into the story like "The Swank Incident" or something that radically shifts you from where you were going with it like "robots attack the party and kill his best friend". After I write that new scene I can go back to the old one and try to write something cryptic or setup the plot change in a silly way. It hasn't let me down yet; I don't know if it fits your usual format or not doe. Writers Block! - John Cena - 12-04-2013 With me if I can't think of something to write I need to just stop attempting and do something else. Blank my mind from it all and revisit the thought later. Sometimes the best ideas come from not trying to think of ones. Writers Block! - Hunter Payne - 12-04-2013 I'm right there with you at the moment. I'm not recruiting or anything.... BUT... Going Straight Edge is a great career swerve for your character. lol Writers Block! - Jenny Alvin - 12-05-2013 I honestly feel like it'd be an interesting experiment to just create a new character and any idea that comes into mind (example: stopping robbers on bicycles) is just worked into a random RP without hesitation or rubbishing the idea. The results would be intriguing. |
