I suck - Liz Hathaway - 10-03-2013 I lost my last two matches. They were also my first two. Apparently I am doing something wrong, Or I just suck. I think it's the latter. Please help. I suck - Rebel - 10-03-2013 Or you are facing really good talent. You don't suck, just have to figure out who you are writing against and try to out smart them in the role play. Be more creative make people like your role play more. I suck - LJ Havok - 10-03-2013 it'll be alright. you should take some of them personality quizzes and expand your character a little more.. i feel the same way though. but we'll get better I suck - Cam Lang - 10-03-2013 Woah, woah, woah. You've lost two matches and you think you suck? I'm on a huge losing streak right now but I'm not going to let it get in the way of my RP's. There are so many talented writers in this place, you'll find your place here eventually. As LJ said, a personality test or thinking about your traits could aid you. If not, do something that's the complete opposite of yourself and would draw interest. Nobody ''sucks'' as long as they put an honest effort into it. I suck - Jessie-ica Diaz - 10-03-2013 Except for Swift Ion, who couldn't even copypaste right. I suck - Mr. Radio - 10-03-2013 I've lost Three matches in a row as Radio but I just keep fighting. I think I'm getting better every time I write, its just some more tough competition! I suck - AlexandraCallaway - 10-03-2013 Honestly dollface, you don't suck. Hell I think you can pull out amazing work.. I think you just need to think on who Liz is. Build on her.. give her an interesting backstory... you can do it! Don't give up without a fight. It took me a long time to get Ally where she is. Fifteen long years. And it's been a hard road, but it pays off in the end. I suck - Mystica - 10-03-2013 Hey, Liz. Here to give you a behind-the-scenes secret. The judge tribunal I set up for this last Madness consisted of three people: myself, and two of my trusted contemporaries. Don't you dare say you sucked. We actually went back and forth deciding on whether you or Jenna Silver was the winner. It was hard to decide. You were very close. That being said, in the future, you will likely face some tough competition. I recommend looking into character development. You have to understand who your character is before you can have them undergo change or conflict. Here is a good site to help you get the feel for your character with 370 questions. How would your character answer these? Once you have the foundation, you need to craft the persona. That is, you need to think how your character thinks -- undertake their personality as you write an RP. Do a little method acting. Let's say someone trash talks Liz in an RP. How would Liz respond to this? Is she calm? Incredibly angry? Hurt? Come up with a scene. Perhaps an overlying plot to your character. You don't necessarily need to respond to all trash talk against you, but it helps to have a logical battle of words with opponents. Make them eat their words. If they're doing scenes for their RP's, you can fire back with a scene of your own. Have an idea of where you'd like your character to go, what you want them to learn, or what you want them to become. Also, as one must do with an essay or professional document, be sure to go back, edit, and revise your RP for grammar and typos. That's all I got for right now. This advice can really apply to anyone. I suck - Mystica - 10-03-2013 http://dehydromon.deviantart.com/art/Blank-Character-Sheet-doc-Over-370-Questions-298561173 Whoops. Forgot the link. Here you go. I suck - LJ Havok - 10-03-2013 Thank you, man. I'm going to take your advice as well. |
