PRIOR TO TWO WEEKS AGO
MASTERMIND'S MANSION
WELLINGTON, NEW ZEALAND
Mastermind’s wife, Maria, has just caught him working out in his home gym.
“There you are, what are you doing?”
“Nothing! Just having a work out,”
“Doesn’t look like nothing to me. How long have you been training? Don’t lie to me. You’ve never lied to your wife.”
Mastermind gulped, and stopped doing what he was doing. He had to answer his wife.
“About a month,”
“You going back aren’t you, to the XWF?”
“I have to, I’m not ready to retire yet,”
“Twice you’ve been in semi retirement, twice you already tried to stay home, but you can’t can you?”
“No,”
“What about the Misfits?”
“What about them? It’s about me at the moment.”
“They are a strong team, you are stronger with them, than without,”
“I will bring them back when I am ready, this next run, this early next run, is all about me. No one else, but like I said there will come a time when I will need them. But not yet.”
“You want to go back?”
“Yes,”
“I can’t stop you?”
“Only if you threaten to leave me,”
“I will never leave you. We have 4 kids together, and I love you. If you have to do this, make sure it’s the last time. Please.”
Mastermind watches as Maria walks away.
The camera fades in to another darken room, and once again it just sees eyes, first they were scurrying around, and then they move to the middle of the picture, and once again a voice booms.
"This is my time. I control this game, I control this match, I control everything because at the end of the day it is all about me, and like I said it is my time. My time is now.
"I have the legacy behind me. I am the legacy. I am on a whole different level than the other 3 participants in this match. I am the highest level.
"Say it again, I’ll say it again. I am the highest level.
"I’m ready for whatever comes my way. I keep on telling management that I want a one on one, but I get a battle royal, or triple threat, or four or five way matches but never a one on one.
I guess I have to make my own way, and show the powers that be, I deserve a one on one.
"It’s all about following the leader, well, I’m the leader on Anarchy. I don’t have a title to prove it, but I did have one once, but I’m still a leader. And after all, this is my time.
"I am after all the Role Model, the true leader, the whole legacy, because I am iconic."
The eyes disappear, and all we hear is laughing. Just brutal laughing. Then the eyes return.
"So Marisol Vilaro, Razor Blade, and Cameron Parker. None of you have ever stepped in the ring with the great one, me, Master of Minds, not a one on one, never a triple threat or not even a fatal four way. There will come a time when you think you will have the match won, but you won’t, you don’t, you can’t. Because this match is mine. All mine.
"You don’t want none, you really don’t want me. But you guys have got me. You will all feel the pain of Mastermind. You will run scared. I will tell you all that. But when it comes down to it, at the end of the day, I will be the one that will stand victorious. Why? Because I’m Mastermind, and I say what goes, and what doesn’t.
"Marisol, Razor, and Cameron, all you three see is a broken down old man. I’ve been in the XWF for 10 years. You may laugh at me, you may not fear me, but believe me when I say, I’m not going away any time soon. I’m not going to run. I’m not going to fall, I’m not going to fail. Failure this time, is not an option.
"The option for me is to win this match."
Once again the eyes disappear, then there is silence, total silence, before it is broken with an evil laugh, and then the eyes return.
"After all, I am the demon of all your dreams, and I will be very brutal in the way I act against all three of you. My time is now. My legacy is now. I am the top level."
This time the eyes stay where they are, but the evil manical laughter is back. Then the camera fades out.
