Yeah, I'm not one to plan either, generally if I do plan it turns out like shit but if you absolutely need to I would suggest it. On another note, I strongly believe it could just be case of writers block and no amount of planning will help that, it'll pass if that's the case

If you've got a story in your head, but it's stuck there, planning helps get it flowing. I usually have a basic idea for a story, and then fill the details as I go, though.
