I guess U-Style and Battlarts are my two favorite federations--Japanese shoot-style feds--and after that, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and All Japan Pro-Wrestling.
I'm biased because Masakatsu Funaki is in AJPW and Sakuraba is in NJPW and they are pretty much my favorite athletes of all time. Plus, Shelton Benjamin is currently with NJPW and I love him too. As well as Minoru Suzuki and Minoru Tanaka.
Point is, even if their booking sucked, I'd still love 'em by default cause they got guys I love.
I love TNA, but sometimes it ticks me off. I also like a lot of stuff in the WWE but again, they drive me batty sometimes.

I should check that out, its lucha libre, right? Most of the lucha-libre influenced stuff I see is through guys like Taka Michinoku, Sasuke, Ultimo Dragon, Tiger Mask, etc., basically, the influence as it is filtered into the Japanese pro-wrestling stuff. And of course, those that've made their mark in the US of A.
I've seen some pure lucha libre before, though, and liked it IIRC. I love the masks.

Yeah, Yoshino is amazing. You ever watch Yujiro Kushida? My buddy, Louis Kendrick, actually wrestled with him a few times. That dude is pretty amazing, especially given that he came out of sub-grappling and MMA initially.

I stick to the WWE federation. Mostly just Raw and PPVs. The rest of their television is pretty bland. (not saying Raw and PPVs arent at times...)
I'll turn on TNA sometimes, but not often.
Japan, I donno. I like the influence that they have on pro wrestling, but I just can't get into it. It's not for me. Same with the indies.

Alright, I've never actually watched a full japanese wrestling show and that's mostly 'cause I don't have a clue where to find these, and not sure if I would enjoy segments (if there are any) 'cause I'm gonna go a limb and say it probably isn't english lol, in saying that, the japanese wrestling I've seen on youtube with various moves I've been checking out and everything, I'd have to say their style and the moves they do are so much better and cleaner than what I see on WWE, WWE don't contract wrestlers, they contract entertainers (sure, they did actually train, but regardless, there'd be no place for most of them without WWE, went downhill with the departures of HHH, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Edge, and the late, great Eddie Guerrero, I'm gonna go ahead and put Kurt Angle in that list as well).
The only two promotions I've ever watched is WWF/WWE and TNA... But based on actual in ring ability and moves, which I find more entertaining than the segments, I'd pick any of the great lucha libre feds and indy circuits that don't censor moves like WWE does, one of the guys that I remember seeing on youtube... Great in ring performer, never seen anyone better (then again I haven't seen much), his name's Ricochet, don't know if anyone's heard of him but he is so good in the ring (performs the Double Rotation Moonsault in Sin Gambit's bio)

Overall, I barely ever watch WWE anymore, except for the extreme or big ppv's (screw summerslam, I only watch HIAC, EC, RR and WM and never live). TNA... I think it was good before Hulk Hogan shows up... He'll eventually be the death of that show.

I love TNA and I definitely like and even love WWE sometimes.
The main thing about Japanese matches, IMO, is the same as with old school pro-wrestling, they are unnecessarily long. I love the technical stuff, but sometimes I feel like the length is unnecessary. I feel this way especially with British pro-wrestling. I love it, yeah, but then its like, sit down for a match and you'll be there forever.

If you haven't watched a lot of Japanese wrestling, my biggest recommendation would be Kazushi Sakuraba versus Ohtani, or maybe Tajiri versus Minoru Tanaka...or, Ikuto Hidaka versus Minoru Tanaka.
Lot of the great, beautiful, explosive technical work...high-flying artistry, all mixed together.
Sakuraba-Ohtani is just amazing IMO. Sakuraba is every bit as great a pro-wrestler as he is an MMA fighter. Highly underrated as a pro-wrestler IMO. Though of course, he's my hero, so I am biased.
